Academy Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy and Proving Grounds play. I’ll discuss a few of the most noteworthy standouts, then list some other players whose performances caught my eye below.

TSM Academy vs. Maryville University (full best-of-3):
100 Thieves Academy had to go through the Play-In stage to get into the main portion of Proving Grounds, but Busio made sure that Wildcard Gaming never put them under any real threat. He was solid and controlling on his favoured Braum in the first game, then switched onto Rakan for game 2 and absolutely popped off, devastating the lane matchup alongside Wixxi and taking over.
It’s only a matter of time until we see this player in the LCS.

Chime really rolled out the red carpet, relentlessly rampaging aRound the Rift on Renata and Rell. Rrrr.
GG Academy took down EG Prodigies in the first round of the Proving Grounds main stage, and Chime was at the forefront of both games. He and Violet dominated 2v2 in game 1, then Chime started game 2 with a cheeky mid lane camp before returning to bot lane and again producing a kill, then roaming (rrr) all over the map to make play after play.
Chad, Jungle, Immortals Academy
Taco Gaming gave IMT Academy a run for their money but ultimately Chad and co. were just too good, especially in game 1 where Chad’s Lee Sin was massive. He got a foothold in the game via counterganking, then took over with jungle invades and pressure play. His second game of Lee Sin wasn’t as clean, but IMTA still found a way to win and advance in the tournament, through the efforts of their solo laners with Chad backing them up.
