AC/AM Standouts: 2021 Spring, Week 12

AC/AM Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy and amateur play. I’ll discuss a few of the most noteworthy standouts, then list some other players whose performances caught my eye below.

Contractz, Jungle, Evil Geniuses Academy

For some unknowable reason, 100 Thieves Academy allowed Contractz to play Nidalee. Twice.

Therefore, Contractz smurfed out two more Nidalee carry performances.

I can’t not highlight the guy. Look at those numbers.

Copy/paste from last week, but with more gusto: if Contractz keeps playing this way, he might force some difficult pre-Summer conversations for the Evil Geniuses org, given their struggles in the LCS Mid-Season Showdown.

K1ng, Bot, Cloud9 Academy

Photo of 98767975937423972.pngC9 Academy are among the favourites to win Proving Grounds and K1ng is their best player. He showed it last week with one game on Jinx and two on Ezreal, especially in game 1 with some aggressive early play and a 2v2 kill in lane. He wasn’t quite as good in the second and third games but still led his team in a lot of ways and showed some resilience.

Prismal, Bot, Golden Guardians Academy

Photo of 99101098215973809.pngKnocking TL Academy out of the tournament was a huge achievement for GG Academy this past week, and Prismal was the carry behind it. He picked Kai’sa and Xayah and played well in team fights, putting out good damage and being heavily involved in his team’s action. Up against Zoos this coming week, he’ll need to keep doing more of the same.
