Academy Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy play. I’ll discuss a few of the most noteworthy standouts, then list some other players whose performances caught my eye below.

Joey, Support, Immortals Academy
Joey is an important piece of IMT Academy as a playmaker and one of their veteran voices. This week he performed very well on Thresh and Lux in his team’s opening series against CLGA, and had a solid showing on Leona and Nautilus against FLYA, as well. Teeing up kills for Arrow is a great way to ensure his team’s success, so Joey just needs to keep doing exactly that!
Tomio, Jungle, Evil Geniuses Academy
EG Academy’s young jungler had his best week as a pro so far, playing aggressive bruisers with two games of Lee Sin, one Xin Zhao, and one Olaf. He made big plays, pressured with invades and caught out exposed enemies, and helped out his solo laners.
Tomio is a player with big energy and a loud voice in comms, so hopefully some personal momentum will help him and his team continue to make progress.
Malice, Jungle, Cloud9 Academy
Love him or hate him (and everyone seems to be in one of the two camps, judging by Twitch chat), you can’t deny how enormously Malice can pop off on his comfort picks. His 11/4/10 Karthus against 100A was truly frightening, posting 1,438 DPM and 8.6 CSPM *as a jungler*. He also did well on a couple games of Udyr, though his Karthus runback in game 2 against 100A didn’t work out too well. Teams are triple-banning his jungle pool, and for good reason, but it hasn’t held him back too badly yet.
