AC/AM Standouts: 2021 Spring, Week 13

AC/AM Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy and amateur play. I’ll discuss a few of the most noteworthy standouts, then list some other players whose performances caught my eye below.

Jojopyun, Mid, Evil Geniuses Academy

EGA’s budding star Mid laner had a huge series against TSM Academy on Saturday, destroying his mid lane opponent and carrying in a pair of Orianna games and one mid lane Renekton pick that brought some great flexibility into the best-of-five series. Earlier in the week, Jojo also brought out a mid lane Sett pick that nearly won game 2 against Cloud9 Academy but wasn’t quite enough.

Conducting the Fudge Hype Train

With this week’s Run It being a celebration of Fudge‘s growth curve during the LCS Spring split, I thought it might be fun to look back at the things I said about him in 2020. I’ve often claimed the title of being the conductor of the Fudge hype train, but is that just hindsight bias?

Nope. Here’s the proof!

I picked him as second-team Academy All Pro (behind Lourlo who was playing exceptionally well that split as part of a dominant DIG Academy team that also featured Damonte).

I picked Fudge as the “cornerstone player” of the strongest possible LCS team that could be built out of Academy players, and this was when he was still considered an import!
