Academy Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy play. I’ll discuss a few of the most noteworthy standouts, then list some other players whose performances caught my eye below.
You might expect, upon seeing Niles’ name at the top of this list, that he got to spam a bunch of aggressive carries plus Gangplank and run over games with resources and confidence plays. But if you take a look, you’ll see three games each of Ornn and Gnar (along with, yes, three Gangplanks, two Camilles, and a Pantheon!?).

Proving Grounds is the best place a player like Will could show up and get himself noticed. As one of NA’s top 5 prospects, he’s playing for his future, and what a future he has if he can continue to develop at this pace.
His 3/0/5 Xin Zhao was followed by a scoreline of 8/2/11 on Trundle, and he did it against a FlyQuest Academy team that has way more competitive experience and a very strong jungler of their own in Nxi.
