Academy Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy play. I’ll discuss a few of the most noteworthy standouts, then list some other players whose performances caught my eye below.
With the amount of time the 100 Thieves Academy mid laner spent in the river and side lanes in the early game this week, it’s obvious that he’s making a very intentional effort to become a more map-mobile player. Roamin’ ry0ma’s Lee Sin created all kinds of action and took control of games, in ways that I haven’t been used to seeing from him. He also played Tristana and Syndra, using the latter to counter Triple’s Lucian in lane and showing his flexibility between different champion archetypes.

Pretty, Mid, Immortals
Three weeks in, and Pretty makes his second appearance in the top 3. You might look at his 1.9 KDA and wonder why he’s on the Standouts list, especially when his team went 0-2 this week, but if you watch the way he played on Azir and Galio, the mechanical and situational plays he made, the positions he put himself in, and the opportunities he created for his team, you can’t help but be impressed by what this man is bringing to the table.

Tuesday, Mid, Counter Logic Gaming
CLG have had a relatively weak Academy program overall this year, but Tuesday has really been stepping up lately and giving the team something to be proud of. His pair of Rumble games in week 7 was almost enough to earn a couple of wins, but even though CLG came out 0-2, Tuesday’s personal contributions were still worthy of highlighting.
