The 2015 World Championships have been all about the Top lane, and teams have put tons of effort into getting their Top laners ahead through early gank pressure. Through the group stages and Quarterfinals, Top laners have represented 40% of the First Blood victims, much higher than what we saw in any of the major regions during the Summer split and Regional tournaments.
The chart below shows how often each role was killed for First Blood in the LCK, LMS, NA LCS, and EU LCS, as well as during the World Championships so far.
Aside from Top laners, the other role being more heavily targeted than usual is Support, which has been 24% of First Blood victims. AD Carries, meanwhile, have only died to First Blood in 10% of the games, lower than in most regional play.
The biggest “offenders” for Top lane FB victimization have also been two of the most successful teams at the tournament: Fnatic (5 FBs on Top in 9 games) and SK Telecom T1 (4 FBs on Top in 9 games). KT Rolster also had high Top lane priority (4 FBs on Top in 10 games).
For the other Semifinalists, Origen have only earned 3 First Blood kills, two on the enemy Jungler and one on the AD Carry. The KOO Tigers have four First Blood kills, two on the enemy Top laner and one each on the enemy Mid laner and AD Carry.
