Academy Standouts highlights the players who performed best in the most recent week of NA Academy play. I’ll discuss three of the most noteworthy players, either the best performers or new standouts who haven’t shown up on the list before, and then list 7 other strong performers below.

huhi, Support, Golden Guardians
huhi picked up Support Sett against FLY Academy and Yuumi against 100 Academy, and on both champions he showed up huge. His coordination with Hard was good, on gank receptions and team fight engages.

It’s been long enough that it’s easy to forget when huhi was a starting LCS mid laner, with an unconventional champion pool and a heavy-roaming style. Now he’s looking like one of the better supports in Academy, maintaining that unique champion pool and creativity.

Holy crap.
K1ng played Miss Fortune and Varus and shredded like nobody’s business. His level 1 work with Diamond against IMT Academy was very impressive and created a huge snowball, and the jungle help he received from Inori against CLG Academy helped him start a pre-4:00 snowball there, too.
What a week.
Gorica, Bot, Golden Guardians
In a pair of wins on Miss Fortune against FLY Academy and 100 Academy, Gorica used strong setup play from huhi and Hard to carry well. It was the best week he’s had so far, after playing more of a backup role to Ablazeolive and ZionSpartan most of the time.
